This shop has a pretty decent selection with avg prices and is the closest grow shop in my area. But after several trips to this store Ive concluded that even though theyre the closest to me by far, I will take my business else where.
First reason is their return/exchange policy. I completely understand not taking back used bottles of nutrients or equipment thats been used but theyve given me a hard time about even exchanging unopened items still sealed in the boxes even with a reciept. I recently purchased a carbon filter that had too low of a cfm rating to be compatible with my fan. The item was never removed from the box, still had the plastic wrapping and I had a reciept and the owner told me that he only exchanges items that are defective period. This is a horrible policy ta have at a business like this were customer relations is so important -if you act like an a**hole people arent goin to come back to your store.
Another problem I have is with their overall product knowlege and willingness to help you out with selection or getting set up. One of the pros of goin to a local shop instead of ordering over the internet is the fact that you can talk directly to a knowlegable profesional and get advice on certain products and how to use them in conjunction w/your set up. I have on several occasions asked for advice on products and have always gotten a short annoyed answer. Ive also asked questions about the best way to set up a new growroom efficiently using items from their store and again always get short rushed answers that dont help in the least. This is the only shop citywide that I have this problem with and its kind of hard to understand because simply helping your customers out is going to make them much more likely to return. Which leads me to my last reason why this store pi**es me off and wont get anymore of my money! Everytime I visit them they act like their doing me a huge favor letting me purchase items from them. They make you feel like its a privilage to be allowed to shop at their establishment and really put off a strong \"hurry up and buy\" vibe. They really make you feel like you need to rush your purchases and get the hell out.
There are several other reasons why I wont continue to shop here but theyre personal issues with the owner/workers that I wont get into. I see that the store already has a poor rating on your site so Im obviosly not the only one that feels this way. And these problems could be easily fixed by hiring a helpful, knowlegable worker or 2 and improving some policies which would def increase business big time!
Thanks for givin folks a voice to rate local shops, maybe this will give these these shops a good reason to start valuing their customer base a little more.
