The moment you've all been waiting for : The New Liquid Lumens video Liquid Lumen Video
The Liquid Lumens HydroFlector "the next level indoor lighting product". After several years of design and development Liquid Lumens has the perfect solution to a historically plaguing problem for indoor gardens. Designed to remove unwanted bulb-heat and IR, the unique liquid-cooled design is not only incredibly effective, but also completely safe! The Liquid Lumens company is proud to have designed, developed, and manufactured all custom parts here in the U.S.A. The HydroFlector consists of 10 professionally engineered custom parts working together to forever change the way you cool your garden. With minimal effort, the HydroFlector can be installed in many HID reflectors designed for 8" air cooling and most "wing" reflectors are easily retro-fit. In addition, the HydroFlector vessel is offered fully assembled and ready to "plug n play". What is most unique about the Liquid Lumens HydroFlector is its flexibility. It can be water-cooled or water & air-cooled. There is quite literally nothing else like the HydroFlector in the world. Decrease the distance between your lights and your plant canopy. Install more lights per square foot than you ever have with the HydroFlector. Both result in more lumens available to your plants, which in turn result in greater yields! Many of you have read about the Inverse Square Law. Doubling the distance to a light source the observed intensity is decreased to (1/2)2 = 1/4 (of its original value). For every inch that the bulb is removed from your plants, the lumen availability decreases dramatically. Under the right conditions, using the HydroFlector, you can move your lights so much closer to your plants that you can switch to 600W lights and achieve similar results as you previously have obtained with 1000W lights. In addition to the unmatched cooling abilities, another major benefit is the decrease you'll see in your electric bill due to factors such as chiller downtime and a significant decrease in your air conditioning demand. The chiller draws about the same amount of power as a comparable fan. The fan runs continuously while the chiller's compressor only comes on periodically (cycles). Every minute the chiller's compressor doesn't run is a minute you would have been paying for the fan to run. Once again, the chiller makes only a very small fraction of the noise as a fan. After a few hours running, the glass on the bottom of a typical 1000W air-cooled set up is usually between 140 to 155 degrees F. With the Hydroflector Hybrid, after 8 hours of running continuously with water chilled to 65 degrees F, the surface of the glass won't exceed 85 degrees. Imagine the savings with your air conditioner not having to work so hard to cool your garden. The better the temperature inside your garden is controlled, the better the crop yield in both quality and quantity. With the Liquid Lumens HydroFlector you have the ability to keep your garden cool without massive air exchange. Since you will not have constant exchange for cooling, you will have the perfect environment for CO2 supplementation. Prior to water-cooling methods, the main problem with CO2 supplementation was the tedious task of balancing your fan cycles with CO2 cycles. Since your garden will not require this continuous air exchange, you will be able to maintain an optimal CO2 environment with minimal environmental controllers to control the fan cycles and temperature protection. There are many methods to cooling the water that circulates through the Liquid Lumens HydroFlector. Although a chiller is the most common method to date, using a "heat exchanger" (like copper tubing) buried in the earth or submerged in a pond or pool is becoming more common. Although there is more effort to install this type of system, by eliminating the need to mechanically chill the water, you make the system that much more energy efficient. The air-cooling was included for use under extreme conditions only (small enclosures, grow chambers, closets, etc.) and should rarely be necessary. Air-cooling can be accomplished by ducting air through the center tube that houses our patented, polished aluminum, one-of-a-kind socket bracket assembly. The socket assembly is designed so all the wiring connections are inside the housing protecting this connection from UV damage. The bracket also is fully adjustable so that you can center any bulb size within the unit. The center tube is positioned inside of a larger tube with water running between the tubes. Both tubes are made from heat-resistant, boro-silicate glass. The ends of the tubes are held together with dual stage rubber and neoprene gaskets and ABS plastic end caps. The unique custom made gaskets are wedge shaped and wrap around the edge of the glass giving it a three-sided seal that locks the gasket into the end cap. The pressure that is needed to pull the end cap in place is supplied by the flange collar that clamps onto the outer tube with epoxy adhesive. The end cap is held to the flange collar by six stainless steel bolts, washers, and nuts. The flange collar is designed for the nuts to recess into it, so there is no need to use a wrench for these, thereby easing assembly. The plastic parts are made with rugged ABS plastic with the highest recommended amount of UV inhibitor, ensuring years of problem free operation. There are also duct covers to use when air-cooling is not needed (this is usually the case). The water nozzles are brass and can easily be swapped out if a different tubing size is used. Liquid Lumens also now offers a "No Flow - No Go" safety mechanism that will cut power to your lighting system in the event of a pump failure. We recommend using this mechanism in all installations For more information on the new Liquid Lumens check out their website at : www.liquidlumens.com
